The contract will now run to 31 March 2014, in alignment with the start of the Next Generation Estate Contracts (NGEC).
In March 2005, Interserve was awarded the southeast regional prime contract by Defence Estates, one of five regional prime contracts in place in the UK. That original contract, valued at around £380m, was for an initial seven-year period, with the option of a three-year extension.
Duties under the contract include the provision of estate management and construction services at 106 locations in London and southeast England encompassing more than 7,000 buildings and facilities including RAF High Wycombe, RAF Northolt, Sandhurst, Chelsea, Horse Guards, Buckingham, St James Palace, Cavalry Barracks and the Duke of York’s Royal Military School.
