According to a local newspaper report, Glasgow City Council auditors called in the police after looking into multi-million-pound contracts for security equipment for City Building, which is owned by the city council.
The says that 64-year-old Robert Gordon from Chryston, was suspended from his post as utilities services manager earlier this year after a supplier made a formal complaint. He has since resigned.
A Glasgow City Council spokesman told the newspaper: “Following a complaint from a contractor, an investigation was carried out by the council's Internal Audit. The subject of that investigation is no longer an employee of City Building. Information was also passed to Police Scotland and it would be inappropriate to comment further while any investigation is ongoing.”
