The new facility will be built under a public-private partnership as part of an investment of AU$1.2bn (£615m) in NSW correctional services.
Grafton Correctional Centre is expected to accommodate at least 1,000 beds. Jacobs was appointed by the NSW government as security technical advisor and engineering technical advisor and is a sub-consultant to the lead technical consultant, architect NBRS+Partners.
Jacobs is also providing more than 10 different technical studies supporting the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Grafton facility on behalf of Infrastructure NSW.
The facility is expected to be operational in 2019.
