The programme of work aims to exceed current Scottish standards on energy efficiency, providing residents with warm, insulated homes, enclosed balconies and new foyer areas. There are 314 flats in the three high-rise 1960s blocks at Cedar Street, near St Georges Road, in the Woodside area of Glasgow.
The scope of Keepmoat’s work includes external improvement works, including energy efficiency works and new cladding, new windows, new lifts and entrance and ground level accommodation improvements. The scheme has been designed by Collective Architecture.
The contract price came in just above the original £9m to £13m estimate range.
Work is scheduled to begin in January 2016 and will last approximately 66 weeks.
