The two-year contract - Power Supply Upgrade (PSU) Phase 3A Along Track Works - is part of Network Rail’s 10-year investment programme in rail infrastructure.
Work starts this month and includes the construction of overhead line electrification (OLE), as well as design, civils, signalling and de-vegetation works. The programme will be carried out by Keltbray’s facilities in Crewe and Rugby.
Keltbray rail & infrastructure managing director Phill Price, who joined from Laing O’Rourke in 2010, said: “The award of this contract is a major step forward in positioning Keltbray Rail as a respected and highly competent project delivery partner within the rail sector. During a time when the market generally remains subdued, this contract provides a welcome boost to our business, our sector and the economy in general.”
Keltbray's PSU project team will be headed up by Warren Jones.
