The move is designed to strengthen Lafarge's ready mix concrete business in Ontario.
The newly acquired ready-mix plants will operate as a separate brand, under the James Dick Concrete name. "Our ready mix customers and suppliers in these communities will see no change in the way they conduct their business with James Dick Concrete," said Bob Cartmel, president and CEO of Lafarge Canada (Eastern Canada).
In addition, a separate agreement has been made between Lafarge Canada and Canada Cartage Systems for services related to the delivery of ready mix concrete from the newly acquired plants.
