The contract win comes as Leadbitter continues to successfully complete housing and regeneration projects in nearby Taunton.
Yarlington owns and manages almost 9,000 properties from Devon to Sedgemoor, and works closely with local authorities to lead the way in developing and managing affordable homes to rent in the South West. This latest contract with Leadbitter provides much needed, affordable housing for the people of Chard, which will be built to meet the requirements of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
Leadbitter will also provide a comprehensive community engagement programme, designed to keep local residents updated on the progress of the Ken Close project throughout the construction process.
Russell Houghton, Regional Director of Leadbitter’s Western Housing division, said: “We are very excited to start work with Yarlington on this housing project. We are looking forward to building an excellent working relationship with them whilst extending our profile even further across Somerset.”
