The framework agreement is estimated to be worth £12m to Lovell. The aim is to help the council meet its obligations under the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015.
Lovell will upgrade high-rise blocks of flats including repairing flat roofs, flashings and rainwater goods. It will carry out structural repairs to external walls and upgrade insulation through overcladding, using approved insulated render systems. The Lovell team will replace all windows and carry out work to repair and improve balcony access.
Lovell has also been appointed to the council’s £24m framework for carrying out similar improvement work to low- and medium-rise blocks of flats. The company is one of three partners selected for each framework. Both frameworks are for three years and have the option to be extended for a further year.
Lovell has been in Scotland for just 10 years and has 375 employees there.
