With the growth in popularity of non-structural curtain walling, Lucideon’s new service provides testing to BS EN 13830 and CWCT (Centre for Window & Cladding Technology) standards.
Lucideon tests curtain wall systems in its purpose-built construction laboratories in Stoke-on-Trent. Tests include air leakage, impact resistance, rain penetration, structural serviceability, glass and anchor bolt pull-out testing.
Product manager Steve Newman said: “Our test suite for curtain walling includes our unique wind loading facility; an enclosed system with fully programmable controls of the loading parameters. We’re also able to test the performance of systems when exposed to extreme changes in temperature and humidity in our hygrothermal rigs.”
