Sir Robert McAlpine will build the 15-storey tower, which has been designed by Eric Parry Architects and will have 400,000 sq ft of office space.
Project client is Generali Saxon Land Development Company, which owns the site at 116-120 Fenchurch Street and 10-14 Fenchurch Avenue. Generali is Italy’s largest insurance firm.
Joint venture developer on its behalf is Greycoat Core.
The building, which will neighbour the Walkie Talkie, has been pre-let to investment management firm M&G, which has signed a 20-year lease on 300,000 sq ft from 2018.
