The project involves demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new four-storey building designed by Dutch architect OMA.
The independent school’s new Sports & Science Facility will include a swimming pool in the basement along with underground parking for its minibus fleet. The ground floor has a cafe, sports viewing area, gymnasium and sports hall as well as an indoor sprint running track. Upper floors will hold laboratories for chemistry, physics and biology. The rooftop amenity space will have a running track.
Construction starts in July 2017 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. The project is designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
This is the third project that McLaren will have delivered for the school in the last five years.
