The work will create 601 new parking spaces along with four restaurant units. It will bring the total number of car parking spaces up to 2,500.
McLaughlin & Harvey will provide all works associated with the project, including a broadwalk frontage, landscaping and feature cladding, as well as lift installations and public stairwells.
Paul Griffen, construction director at McLaughlin & Harvey, said: "We are proud to be appointed as main contractor for the continued works at Glasgow Fort. Since it opened, the shopping park has been extremely successful and the new car park will add to its current offering, increasing the car parking spaces by 30% for shoppers across Glasgow and beyond. We are also a major employer in the west of Scotland and we will be seeking to work with local suppliers and subcontractors wherever possible on this project.”
The new car park is expected to be complete in spring 2016.
