ե֭ work begins immediately, with completion scheduled by the start of the new academic year in September.
The new reception block will be the new location for Preston College’s visual and performing arts students, who are among 20,000 students enrolled at the college.
Work will be done during term time and so will be phased and timed in conjunction with the curriculum to minimise any disruption.
Miller ե֭ area director Frank Joyce said: “We are delighted to be starting work at Preston College. The new facility will become a focal point for students and visitors to the College. We are highly experienced in delivering learning environments which complement a 21st century education and we are excited to be responsible for the delivery of this exciting new facility.”
College principal Lis Smith said: “The signing of the contract marks a significant milestone in not only the delivery of such a fantastic new state of the art facility but helps drive the college forward in its aspiration to become outstanding. This new facility will not only enhance and build upon the existing campus, but will bring a new focal point to the college which will benefit both existing and future learners, including the wider community.”
