In Liverpool, developer Unite Students has acquired site in the city centre which has planning consent for 713 student bedrooms. Unite Students plans to look at increasing the density of the site to provide accommodation for more than 1,000 students. The £70m development is expected to open by September 2019.
Meanwhile, in Portsmouth, Empiric Student Property has bought a 12-storey office block and entered into a forward funding arrangement for a £21m redevelopment to convert it into 242 student rooms. Stuart Properties Ltd will be responsible for the development, which will be Empiric’s second in Portsmouth.Â
