The work will create an extra 1,080 pupil places across Upton Cross Primary School, Portway Primary School and Calverton Primary School in time for the 2014-15 school year.
The Portway Primary School project will see the construction of a two-storey block extension with 10 classrooms and a new ‘learning resource centre’.
Upton Cross Primary School is to be expanded from a one and a half form entry school located on one site, to a five form entry school based over two sites.Â
Calverton School will get a single-storey extension with eight classrooms and a special education needs room. The existing school block will also be refurbished.
The contract was awarded through the £1bn Improvement & Efficiency South East (IESE) framework, one of the main public sector construction frameworks in London and the southeast for the education and health sectors.
