The agreement, signed through the government’s Aviation Travel & Logistics Holdings Limited (ATL) involves the financing, construction and operation of the airport project, over a period 25 years with an optional 15 years extension. The project will be fast-tracked for completion by December 2018.
The project is designed to enhance Rwanda’s economic growth and development through increased visits as a business conference destination. It will serve as Rwanda’s gateway and is designed to facilitate trade and investments and act as a hub for growth by Rwandair and other airlines serving the region.
