The joint venture of China Harbour and Bouygues subsidiaries Dragages Hong Kong and VSL . The HK$12.867bn (£1.06bn) project is the largest single design and build contract ever awarded in Hong Kong.
The bridge will support a dual three-lane carriageway over the Pearl River Estuary – one of the world’s busiest shipping channels. It will be formed from pre-stressed concrete box sections and constructed using the balanced cantilever method.
Mott MacDonald will design substantial sections of the viaduct, as well as being responsible overall for geotechnical, highways, electrical and mechanical, utilities, and other civil engineering services.
