Phase I of the project will see the setting up of herbicides, fungicides and insecticides liquid plants and a powder formulation and packaging facility. A warehouse, utility block and other associated plant infrastructure will also be developed on site. Phase II will seek to expand the production capacity of the plant.
Working on behalf of Dhanuka Agritech, Mott MacDonald will provide architecture, civil and structural, process and building engineering services. Other roles will include supervision during the project’s construction.
Vinod Gupta, Mott MacDonald’s divisional director, said: “Over the past decade, tolerant crop varieties have enabled strong growth in herbicide demand and contributed to significant increases in agricultural productivity. Consequently, the Indian agrochemicals industry has developed substantially. We are delighted to take on such an important role in this significant project.”
