He joined the company in November 2010 and led the acquisition and integration of both Turriff and TransLinc. He has also held interim responsibility as finance director of the company's regulated services division.
Mr Hazlewood trained as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) after first getting a first class honours degree in human biology and a doctorate in immunology. Previous jobs include finance director of South Staffordshire Water, commercial finance director of Homeserve Emergency Services and group commercial director of Anglian Home Improvements Group.

Matt Stevens, who joined May Gurney as group finance director in December 2009, has resigned from the board.
