The new arrival is the largest of the 22 cranes that Cadman operates and its seventh Liebherr model.
The LTM 1160-5 was originally rated at 160 tonnes capacity but Liebherr has uprated it., despite reducing the chassis width from 3 metres to 2.75 metres.
The five-axle crane's superstructure is powered by the six-cylinder engine in the undercarriage using a mechanical shaft.
Since purchasing a LTM 1070-4.2 from Liebherr in 2012, Cadman Cranes has purchased exclusively from Liebherr. It had never previously bought Liebherr products.
The 2012 purchase of the LTM 1070-4.2 was followed by the purchase of one of the first LTC 1045-3.1 mobile cranes in the country in 2013 and in 2014 it added of an LTM 1030-2.1 and another an LTC 1045-3.1 as well as a two-year-old LTM 1100-5.2.
A 2009 LTM 1030-2.1 mobile crane was added to the fleet in 2015 and late in 2015 the LTM 1160-5.2 was delivered ready for registration at the start of this year. Cadman Cranes also has a new LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane arriving this month.
