Lecce's Occupational Health and Safety accreditation is in fact the plant's third such certification. It also received the ISO 9001 for Quality Management and the ISO 14001 for Environmental Management standards. This recent certification confirms Lecce as a production site operating under the highest international health and safety, and efficiency standards. These standards are in line with the plant's implementation of the World Class Manufacturing Program, designed to achieve world class performance, as well as the Fiat Group's sustainable development plan for a safe and healthy working environment.
"This new certification confirms the company's ongoing commitment to achieving excellence in environmental, health and safety performance by creating an injury-free and environmentally responsible workplace in each of its plants worldwide," said Paul Laskos, Environment, Health and Safety manager in Europe.
The Lecce plant is an important manufacturing center in southern Italy operating since 1972. Today, it provides jobs to approximately 500 employees. The wheel loaders, telehandlers, and dozers produced there are exported to all five continents.
