Mr Albiston will be based at Hewden’s head office in Manchester, in charge of service delivery and infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing the nationwide depot network, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, and improving customer service levels.
He has a master’s degree in engineering from UMIST and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He was previously director of customer operations at the Home Delivery Network and spent seven years at GE where he achieved 6 Sigma master black belt status.
Hewden has also appointed a new head of human resources, Lyndsay Glover. She joins from
HP Information Security, where she was HR director. At Hewden she is tasked with growing the company’s graduate recruitment scheme as well as increasing the number of apprenticeship opportunities available to school leavers.
