Mr McKenna joins the company from HM Courts & Tribunals Service, where he was head of health and safety. Before that, he was an inspector for the Health & Safety Executive.
In his new role, he is responsible for developing the Hewden’s strategic health and safety policies and procedures to eliminate injuries.
Mr McKenna said of his new job: “Working to maintain health and safety standards in some of the harshest and most hostile environments brings with it a range of challenges. Achieving the highest levels of safety performance requires participation from every employee. At Hewden every employee has the right to stop the job and find a safer way to work. We are upping our game in health and safety and I’m excited by the challenge.”
