The new system uses a simple ‘click and fix’ mechanism to secure C-section side rails in place, revolutionising traditional fixing methods which rely on time-consuming nut and bolt assemblies.
Commenting on the company’s latest innovation, sales director Kevin Jones states, “The new rapid side rail support system underlines the Metsec philosophy for leading the way in all areas of steel construction technology. The new system provides the same rigidity and strength of traditional nut and bolt techniques, but with considerable savings.
“Obviating the need for old-fashioned nuts and bolts provides savings in materials and fixing time. It also simplifies and speeds demounting procedures when the building comes to the end of its useful life, thereby helping developers to meet sustainability targets.
“The new rapid side rail support system delivers savings on actual component costs of around ten percent and up to fifty percent on erection time. As such, it enables faster construction for less money, which can only be good news for the entire construction team in terms of enhanced competitiveness and profitability.”
Metsec’s new rapid side rail support system is already enjoying popularity with steelwork fabricators and has been used on a number of key projects for high profile clients, including Royal Mail, Prologis, Chancery Gate and Birmingham Airport.
