Walters & Cohen Architects has been appointed by Newnham College to design the first phase of a multi-million pound project.
Eight practices entered a design competition held by the college and Walters & Cohen won the role to design the first project, which is a development of 75 en-suite bedrooms for graduate students.
A planning application for the first project is scheduled to be submitted in the summer of 2015, with a view to the work starting the following summer.
The college said that it intends the project to be ‘restorative, inspirational, spacious, elegant and sophisticated’ as well as highly energy efficient.
