Next stage of Ulster Hospital redevelopment out to tender

30 Aug 11 Bidding has opened for the next stage of the redevelopment of the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, Belfast.

The four year project, which is phase B1 of the total redevelopment of the site, has an estimated cost of £83m.

This phase will provide an approximate internal floor area of 24 000 sqm, to house a new inpatient ward block as well as four day surgery suites, three endoscopy suites and a cardiac catheterisation suite.

Phase B2 of the redevelopment may also be procured simultaneously under a framework agreement, taking total cost to £160m. Phase B2 includes departments such as A&E, x-ray, specialist wards, support accommodation and central catering.
