Ѱ’s highways and special projects division will resurface the whole of Bridgend town centre with Pennant sandstone paving from the Forest of Dean. Work will also include upgrading drainage, street lighting and soft landscaping. The town centre will also feature specially commissioned artwork.
The improvements in Bridgend are part of a £10m transformation of the town centre. Work starts this month and is due for completion in August.
NMC executive director of special projects Geoff Poyzer said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract and be involved in such an important regeneration project. NMC saw steady growth throughout 2011 in public realm projects and our specialist skills and expertise is allowing us to build on this success throughout the UK. The improvements in Bridgend will further enhance the environment in the town centre providing a vibrant and attractive place for residents and tourists alike.”
