The £200K project will see the Manchester-based contractor fit out the fourth floor of Piccadilly Gate for the building’s owners, British Rail Board (Residuary) BRB(R), according to the MoD’s requirements. The works will involve adaptation of the existing M&E installation, creation of meeting rooms and carpeting. The two month schedule has been designed to ensure that the MoD’s IT team can install the required systems while fit out work is still in progress, enabling the MoD to take up occupancy by the end of January 2011.
Comments managing director of Ocon, Andrew Barker: “The Piccadilly Gate refurbishment scheme was a major project for us and has already created a new landmark in Manchester’s commercial landscape. We won this fit out contract for the same scheme following a competitive tender and are delighted that the calibre of our work on the refurbishment has helped us to secure this follow on project.”
