Paramount has ordered the Ommelift 4200 RBDJ, a lightweight 42m hybrid boom lift. It is the largest crawler-mounted boom that the Danish manufacturer has yet made.
Weighing 6,805kg and offering the ability to set up on inclines of up to 27%, the Ommelift 4200 RBDJ can work comfortably outdoors in many areas unsuitable for conventional big booms. Compact dimensions enable access into confined spaces, with a stowed height of less than 2m and length of 8.9m. For transport, the basket can be detached for a package length of 8.3m. The width of 1.75m, which Omme Lift says provides stable travelling on slopes, can be hydraulically retracted to only 1.35m for narrow paths, corridors and doorways.
Paramount purchased its first Omme Lift platform last year, investing in two 37m tracked booms. These machines have found a market in telecommunications and for commercial building maintenance and inspection in London, where narrow access is often a challenge.
Based in Chelmsford, but operating nationally, Paramount has a growing fleet of spider lifts and truck mounted booms.
The new machine was bought from dealer Access Platform Sales (APS).
