Having undergone public consultation, Peel Land & Property aims to submit outline plans to Medway Council next month.

The proposed Chatham Waters scheme includes an office development, education facilities, an ‘EventCity’, a hotel, a supermarket, apartments and townhouses, and landscaped public areas.

Peel claims that its surveys show 90% of locals support the scheme.

Development director James Whittaker: “We were overwhelmed by the public’s positive feedback which will not only transform a huge swathe of the dock area, but will also provide desperate refurbishment to the dock itself. We’re committed to breathing life back into Chatham and this will not only create jobs and homes but will transform the landscape.”

Indigo Planning, Planit ie, the Traffic Transport & Highway Consultancy and 5 Plus Architects are advising Peel on the scheme.
