It is now seeking expressions of interest from technical consultants to assist with the specialist work needed to achieve planning approvals.
LMA’s role covers the eastern section of the link, which will join the Eastern Freeway with the Tullamarine Freeway and extend to the Port of Melbourne at Footscray Road. The authority had previously undertaken planning for the western section.
A business case for the East West Link has been developed by the Department of Transport, with assistance from LMA, and will be considered by government in the coming months. The next steps in the development of the East West Link will then be determined after that time.
