The crane has been designed with the special option of reduced tailswing that keeps the live mast within the line of the counterweight. Hitachi Sumitomo says this is a first for a crane of this size.
“This unique compact design allows the machine to be operated in confined spaces on such construction sites as logistic warehouses,” the manufacturer says. “The SCX3500-3’s versatility may be evidenced by its capacity to work from wide to small radius settings.”
With the luffing jib able to work at angles as near to vertical as 74° and the boom at 88°, the crane can also be set up for lifting close to the load.
The Cummins engine of the SCX3500-3 meets EU Stage IV emission regulations and has an auto idle stop function.
