It is worth an estimated £1.5m per annum and £10.5m over the full term of the contract and is the second term achieved by Ringway for this contract.
The A417 and A419 together form a strategic link between the M4 and M5, connecting Swindon, Cirencester, Cheltenham and Gloucester, and longer distance destinations via the two motorway corridors.
Ringway will undertake all services required to maintain the network of road ranging from major resurfacing and reconstruction schemes, bridge work, RTA damage repairs, street light maintenance, structural surveys, winter maintenance (salting and snow clearance) and installation of traffic management for emergency responses to road traffic accidents.
Ringway originally won the contract in 1999 and secured an extension in 2005.
“Securing this contract is great news for Ringway and we look forward to contributing our services on this key route through the Cotswolds,” says Chris Connor, managing director. “The successful bid is a testament to the hard work of our divisional manager, Paul Herbert, and the entire team at Wiltshire.”
