The contract starts in November and is worth up to £10m over the five years. Seddon will provide responsive repairs for Riverside’s housing stock in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire. It will also cover housing managed by Riverside at RAF Cosford in Telford and residential and office accommodation at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Seddon will also carry out repair work to empty homes.
After the initial five years, there is the option to extend for a further five years.
Riverside tenants and residents helped to mark the pre-qualification questionnaires and assess performance and service levels of all the contractors who tendered for the work.
Riverside Midlands assistant director of property services Phil Davison said: “Seddon has been through a rigorous procurement process to be selected. The contract will involve partnership working with Riverside to deliver employment opportunities in the form of apprenticeships and help with other community initiatives.”
