The project will see the construction of 67 flats, 50,000 sq ft of office space and a 120-bed high-end hotel on a plot of land near the new V&A museum and opposite the train station.
Robertson chief operating officer Derek Shewan said: "Dundee Waterfront is an exciting and innovative development project so we are naturally delighted to be selected as preferred developer for this exclusive, flagship development.
He added: "This development promises to be a high quality addition to Dundee's flourishing Waterfront area and we are looking forward to moving on to the next stage of the project."
Dundee City Council city development convener Cllr Will Dawson said: "Our Central Waterfront is an exciting hive of activity as progress continues on a number of major projects, including V&A Dundee and the railway station.
"We expect more private investment in the Waterfront to emerge as the surge in interest we are currently seeing from developers begins to bear fruit.”
