Robertson, an integrated infrastructure, support services and construction group started refurbishment work for Intertek on September 23. Intertek is a global provider of quality and safety services, which provides inspection, specialist testing and analysis services to the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen.
The contract, which is valued at £3.5 million, will run for six months and requires Robertson to carry out refurbishment work to create a new state-of-the-art laboratory for Intertek along with office facilities within the North Point building in the Aberdeen Energy Park.
The ‘Energetica corridor’ or the ‘Hydrogen Highway’ as the concept has been named would run from the Aberdeen Science and Energy Park on the outskirts of the city to Peterhead. The aim of the 30-mile corridor is to attract energy companies to the area transforming Scotland into a world leader in the development of renewable energy as well as hydrocarbon resources.
Sean O’Callaghan, regional managing director for Robertson, said: “We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract and look forward to starting work in the area. To provide state of the art office facilities and be part of a world leading project is a great asset to the Robertson portfolio.”
