It has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) wth BriSky Technology, a manufacturer that produces customised unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Sany will partner with BriSky in the development and manufacture of industrial drones specially engineered for use on wind farms to conduct wind turbine inspection and collect key data for operations.
Sany said that advances in drones have enabled their function to extend beyond aerial videography and photography. Intelligent imaging systems can transform wind farm operations and maintenance.
Sany entered the renewable energy industry in 2008, and set up Sany Heavy Energy Machinery in 2013. Partnering with BriSky is seen as giving Sany strategic positioning in the wind energy industry, allowing it to make greater strides in the research and development of smarter wind turbine units and inspection systems.
