The compact German-made KR702-2 enables Underpin & Makegood to drill holes up to 450mm diameter in confined spaces. It is the second Klemm machine in the company’s fleet, joining a KR500.Â
The specialist contractor will now be able to take on a wider range of drilling and piling applications without having to hire in equipment, including contiguous walls, new build and restricted access areas such as basements.
The KR 702-2 can be driven through 750mm-wide doors. Its telescopic crawler tracks extend to 1.25m allowing the use of a new slew head (6 x 90°) for anchor drilling. Furthermore both telescopic tracks can be moved individually. Further rig stability comes from the two hydraulically telescopic outriggers.
The rig is powered by a separate Power Pack which is either driven by an electric motor or a diesel engine.
