Sisk/Roadbridge come in at half price on Forth Crossing junction upgrade

30 Jun 11 A joint venture between John Sisk and Roadbridge has won the final major contract associated with the Forth Replacement Crossing with a bid at half the budgeted price.

John Sisk/Roadbridge was selected ahead of three rival bids to upgrade the M9 Junction 1a near Kirkliston with a tender price of £25.6m. The original estimated price range was £46m to £65m.

Scottish cabinet secretary for infrastructure and capital investment Alex Neil said: “Today’s announcement that the preferred bid for the M9 Junction 1a contract is substantially under budget demonstrates further significant savings for the public purse. While it is clear that the current construction market is highly competitive, this is also testament to Transport Scotland’s robust procurement and project management.”
