The slope stability remedial works are to be undertaken ahead of construction of a museum that is planned. The museum building itself would provide a permanent stabilisation solution to the site.
The aim of the initial project is to provide an economic cliff stabilisation solution that is of benefit to and coordinated with the museum structure, but with the main focus of the work to make the area safe.
Work is expected to take six months and contract value is estimated at £3.2m.
The works will be tendered as part of a two stage design and build contract and will be considered against an evaluation ratio of 50% price, 40% quality and 10% interview.
