CCSec estimate that contractors could save £35,000 a year on security costs by using CCTV with a professional response unit which could double up as an effective management tool.
CCsec has estimated that employing a security guard, costs around £8.50/hour, £918.00/week and £48,654/year (based on 108 hours per week). By comparison, a technology based security solution utilising a four CCTV camera system, including monitoring, key holding and with a professional response unit on stand-by, will cost £1.49/hour, £250.00/week and £13,000.00/year. Over five sites that is £178,000 every year! Over five years that's ONE million pounds!!
The turnkey construction site security specialist is proposing that technology based systems can also effectively double-up as a site management tool at no extra cost. Carl Clarke, Managing Director of CCSec explains:
“CCTV security cameras can record all areas of the site 24 hours a day. This allows management to disprove any fictitious invoicing from sub-contractors, false health & safety claims and fictitious claims of personal injury by the public. A security guard would need to be employed during the day as well as at night to monitor these aspects on the construction site and would cost an additional £510.00/week.”
Many construction sites do not implement site security due to the costs of hiring a security guard. CCSec is committed to researching and developing the latest technology to make effective security systems affordable.
