Scotland's J&D Pierce Contracts has invested more than £700,000 in 10 large Terex Genie rough terrain boom lifts from dealer Access Platform Sales (APS).
The order includes six telescopic booms and four articulating booms. The telescopic booms are a pair of Genie S85s with a maximum platform height of 25.9 metres and four 21.8-metre S65s. The articulating booms are two Z80s and two of the recently-launched Genie Z62 machines.
The Ayrshire-based contractor made the investment to reduce its expenditure on hiring in access platforms. The purchase deal includes a support package from APS’ sister company, PSR.
PSR has fitted each platform with Infobric smart card readers that restrict their use to authorised operators and provide remote monitoring.
J&D Pierce managing director Derek Pierce said: “Working nationally, we wanted not only the best machines but a partner who could provide the best level of after-sales support – and APS fills that role perfectly. It is a trusted supplier we have dealt with for many years, which can support our fleet with a nationwide network of experienced service engineers.”
