Work includes 45,000m³ of excavation inside a pre-formed concrete secant wall. Support of the excavation will be formed by new concrete floors as well as ground anchors and tie wire bracing.
Reinforced concrete works include breaking down of piles, capping beam, pile caps and raft foundation tied to preinstalled concrete piles with concrete columns, stairs and slabs over 5 stories designed to take substantial loadings. Various concrete grades are involved up to an in-situ polished concrete finish. Works also include below ground drainage. In keeping with the museum settting, all work has to be carried out with minimum noise and vibration.
