T Clarke order book up 11%

11 May 12 Building services contractor T Clarke has seen its order book grow 11% in the past year to £210m.

80% of targeted revenue for 2012 has already been secured, the company said in an interim management statement, issued ahead of its centenary annual general meeting in London today.

The company said that despite markets remaining challenging due to the weak economic conditions, trading is continuing in line with the board’s expectations.

It said that there was “some evidence that clients and principal contractors are becoming increasingly discerning, seeking to build resilience into their supply chains by selecting strong partners. With the group's long history, reputation and financial strength T Clarke is well positioned to benefit from this trend.”

As well as work booked, T Clarke is also preferred bidder for £30m of projects starting in 2012, including a data centre in the Midlands and a number of short term projects at various Olympic venues ahead of the start of the Games this summer.

T Clarke’s 100th AGM takes place at noon today at 2 Savoy Place, London WC2.
