It meets the new rail industry standard RIS-1530-PLT Issue 6 (UK), can extend to a height of 21 metres and has the capacity to pick and carry up to 6 tonnes.
The TH21 can also tow loads of up to 48 tonnes and is compatible with more than 20 different quick-hitch Manitou attachments.
Rail Products UK managing director Derek Burns said: “We are glad to report that all the on-track testing appears to have gone very well with the TH21 performing exceptionally well during all lifting and braking tests as well as effortlessly cruising up a 1 in 25 gradient with 49 tonnes attached on two trailers.”
He added: “We were also pleased to welcome a number of invited guests to the test site so they could view this superbly designed road/rail crane close up and personal as well as watch an on-track demonstration of the machine’s undoubted versatility and recognise why we believe the TH21 will help revolutionise lifting on the railways.”
