The new machine joins two smaller Volvo excavators bought earlier in the year – an EC250D and an EC300D.
The new 38-tonner is now the largest excavator in Urban Regen’s fleet. It has been put to work on a land remediation project in Cheshire.
It was selected following a competitive tender process, although it was the product performance of the earlier two machines coupled with Volvo’s after-sales support that clinched the deal, according to managing director Andy Walker. All three excavators are covered under Volvo’s Blue Service Agreement packages.
Urban Regen was established in 2001, with Mr Walker taking over sole ownership in 2010. The company specialises in land remediation, demolition and civil engineering for the private and commercial sector.
