Poplar HARCA, a registered social landlord which owns and manages 8,500 homes in Poplar, East London, has appointed United House for refurbishment works on the Brownfield Estate.
The £4m contract involves work on over 300 four-storey maisonettes across 13 blocks, including external building fabric repairs and internal improvements.
Externally, the envelope of the buildings will be repaired, while new roofs will be fitted, windows replaced and balconies renovated. Cladding and roofs will be insulated to improve warmth and energy efficiency.
Internally, the communal areas will be refurbished, door entry systems will be fitted to improve security and IRS will also be installed for TV to eliminate the need for individual satellite dishes. Work is due to start on site in November 2011 and take 56 weeks.

The contract will involve work on properties in Hammersmith & Fulham External and internal refurbishments will include communal hallways, roof repairs, roof and cavity insulation, window and door repairs and replacements, upgrades to steps, balconies and fencing. The work is due to start in November 2011 until May 2016
