Professional builders are working in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to organise all aspects of the work including securing subcontractors and suppliers, fundraising and seeking donations of materials.
With the help of local building professionals in communities across the USA, the Home Builders Blitz programme is designed to support Habitat’s vision of “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
This year’s event will take place from 4-8 June. The goal is to build 200 homes in the five days.
Among the projects is a scheme in Wilmington, North Carolina. In just one week, five affordable homes will be built for Wilmington families as Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, professional builder volunteers and building material donors including the Tapco Group come together.
All Habitat construction focuses on water and energy efficiency, safety and health, and materials conservation.
“When you see tears of joy from hardworking new homeowners, it’s inspiring,” said Tapco product manager Kelly Warren.
