Collectively Atkins and Merrick & Company have provided more than 80 years of architecture and engineering services to the US Department of Defense (DoD) and this project marks the first selection of their JV as lead consultant.
The JV’s seven-year contract will support military construction, family housing and and programmes for facility sustainment, restoration, and modernisation (SRM). The contract allows any Atkins office in the world to provide the necessary design or environmental-related services to support the Air Force’s worldwide mission, including studies, concept or full designs, construction document packages, construction administration and programme management.
AFCEC, which has its headquarters in Texas, provides installation engineering services including facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support and environmental compliance and restoration. The unit conducts operations at more than 75 locations worldwide overseeing execution of contracts and managing housing and lease portfolios.
