Vinci and Spie Batignolles will build an 8.2km tunnel between Fort d’Issy-Vanves-Clamart and Villejuif Louis Aragon using two 10m-diameter earth pressure balanced tunnel boring machines operating simultaneously.
Société du Grand Paris selected the bid submitted by the joint venture to build the T3C section of the line. The contract also includes construction of five new stations (Châtillon Montrouge, Bagneux, Arcueil-Cachan, Villejuif Institut Gustave Roussy and Villejuif Louis Aragon) and eight shafts. The project will take 70 months to complete.
The T3C section involves removal of 3.2 million tonnes of spoil and placing of more than 470,000m3 of concrete.
At peak activity, the project will employ nearly 900 people.
